Help is easy to find but I’m not sure it’s worth it. Finding your way through the minefield of what works and what doesn’t requires having some friends. Many things don’t work as they’re supposed to or are derived from older, convoluted, systems that never exactly panned out. It’s just not a game that looks or feels much like Star Wars, not that it ever did, and combat is anything but smooth or intuitive. You can make toys, like ships or droids or pets, if you’ve the right specialization. There are rewards for collecting items or killing enough creatures or starships. There are veteran rewards and rewards for winning CCG tourneys or beating their solo campaigns. No other MMO really offers you this kind of variety in the toys you can collect and play with. Pets, space ships, houses, characters they’re all neat toys. In fact, the strong point of SWG at this point really is toys. So if building up a stable of crazy alien beasties appeals then there’s really no alternative.ĭroids, jetpacks, vehicles and other toys. Fighting pets, riding pets, and decorative pets. If you like pets there’s a horde of them. When I was active there you’d find a very helpful and organized pilot community on Starsider (also the main roleplaying server). There’s alot of open territory on the worlds of SWG.ĭecent space sim PvP elements out there but it takes time to grind the levels you need and to put together the gear you’ll want. Old hands are usually happy to help out newcomers. Really helpful community on some servers. The best player housing and decoration options in any MMO including flying, fighting, houses otherwise known as player-on-board ships, along the lines of Solo’s Millennium Falcon or other small gunships, a yacht and a mining vessel. Great freedom to visually design a character including a plethora of clothing options.
